The face transplant surgery isn't just astounding medicine, it's astounding medical ethics. The patient apparently was injured when her dog tried to wake her after a suicide attempt ... there are questions as to whether this was the only way to help her, and even whether the surgical team was up to the job. I hate to say there was a "let's try this, man" attitude on the part of eager medical pros, but you've got to wonder... anyway, here's the story from BBC.
