When I was in college, we had this big brouhaha over the CIA recruiting on campus. I also had friends in ROTC who had to attend military drills off campus because of this spat over the military's policy on homosexuals. Now the Supreme Court is weighing the issue.
I'll say now what I said then. If law schools don't like the military's policy on gays, and they don't want to give them the same access as other potential employers, they shouldn't take the federal government's money. If they want the money, they should give the military the same courtesy as anyone else. Don't Ask/Don't Tell is the policy of the federal government of the United States. If you don't like it, try to change it (though it seems there are fundamental issues of privacy that would have to be worked out if you did drop the ban...) But for now, sorry fellow progressives, I'm with the milbloggers (and it seems, John Roberts) on this one. (And no, it's not the same as the O'Reilly foolishness re San Francisco -- no one is suggesting anyone blow up Harvard Law...)
