| The return of Baghdad Bush |
Remember Baghdad Bob? The Iraqi government spokesman whose confident pronouncements that there was "no presence of American infidels in the city of Baghdad," even as the smoke billowed behind his head from U.S. airstrikes? Well, President Bush is vying to match his unique takes on reality, with equal hillarity. Two statements from Bush's ABC News interview on his way to India:
On Iraq:
"I don't buy your premise that there's going to be a civil war." And on his political troubles back home, including polls showing his approval rating in the low 30s, and 72 percent of troops in Iraq wanting their mission to end within one year (to say nothing of the global polling numbers...):
"I've got ample capital and I'm using it to spread freedom and to protect the American people..." And there are no infidels inside the city of Baghdad. ...
