Is it just me, or did way too many Bush administration-era scandals involving security or the “war on terror” involve weird, often homoerotic naked stuff? (Warning: photos after the jump)
Of course, the big difference is that the guards at the Kabul embassy had a choice (though some now claim they were pressured to participate in deviant antics such as “naked pool parties” if they wanted a promotion. The prisoners at Abu Ghraib had no choice whatsoever, and culturally, the things they were being forced to do were literally damnable in their religious tradition. But both scandals taint the U.S. in the eyes of the Muslim world, and do damage to our efforts abroad. So what is it with Bush-era frat party nude crude? Did Dubya initiate EVERYONE in the security establishment into Skull and bones???
Meanwhile, this is the second bad look (that we know of) for our friends at Wackenhut, who also brought you the slain guard at the D.C. Holocaust Museum, who was among the many Wackenhut employees who were denied proper security vests for their own security, despite repeated entreaties from their union.
Wackenhut has friends in high places though, so like Xe (better known as Blackwater) expect them to continue receiving fat government contracts. Your tax dollars at work!
UPDATE: The whistleblower in this case has apparently been forced out of their job.
