The Palins laid bare ... ahem ... in Sarah's new book

Sarah Palin’s ghost writer apparently outdid herself in writing Sarah’s “autobiographical” opus: “Going Rogue.” Going Jackie Collins is more like it. Enjoy this excerpt from the book, and luxuriate in the mellifluous prose. The clip details Sarah’s reaction to campaign trail rumors that she and Todd were divorcing:

“That day in sunny Texas when the divorce rumors were rampant in the tabloids, I watched Todd, tanned and shirtless, take the baby from my arms and walk him back to the ranch house so Trig could nap while I made calls,” she wrote, in excerpts from the book (due out on Tuesday, November 17) obtained by NBC News. “Seeing Todd’s blue eyes smiling, I chuckled. ‘Dang,’ I thought. ‘Divorce Todd? Have you seen Todd?’”

And no, that’s not an SNL skit. That’s really in the book! Meanwhile, the scariest part of this? The winger faithful are lapping this stuff up! They think the kind of drivel you just read makes Sarah seem even MORE presidential than she already … isn’t. And they sincerely wish to be ruled by such a person … and her shirtless husband. It’s both frightening, and hilarious, at the same time…

Meanwhile, the Daily Beast’s “Book Beast” has the top 15 Palin book leaks, including this highly presidential quote:

If God had not intended for us to eat animals, how come He made them out of meat?

I can almost hear “Hail to the Chief” now…

And yet, a new poll has more bad news for the Palin Nation: most people think she’s … wait for it … not qualified to be president. Really? Really:

There is not only a new Sarah Palin book, but a new Sarah Palin poll by ABC News/Washington Post, which finds, as she kicks off her publicity tour for “Going Rogue,” that 53 percent of Americans say they would definitely not vote for her for president, 37 percent would consider it and 9 percent definitely would.

Sixty percent say she is not qualified to be president, compared to 38 percent who say she is, according to the poll conducted Nov. 12-15.

And Sarah’s unfavorables outweigh her favorables, 52-43. Even the right wing Rasmussen folks can’t buy Sarah a break. In their latest Sarah poll, 55% of likely Republican voters say they’re not following the Palin book saga very closely or at all, compared to just 16% who are following it “very closely.” And those with a “very unfavorable” view of the Queen of the Right outnumber those viewing her “very favorably” 29% to 21%. Asked, “Is Sarah Palin a divisive force in the Republican Party, or is she representative of a new direction for the party?” the answer shook out as follows:

26% She is a divisive force in the Republican Party

41% She is representative of a new direction for the Republican Party

33% Not sure

Meanwhile, 4 out of 10 GOPers surveyed said Sarah shares the values of most Republican voters throughout the nation. Now THAT I believe.

Palin is the new poster child for the GOP, and what could be more fitting?
