Charlie Crist flips, now supports DADT repeal
Three days to go from “no” to “yes.” Breathtaking. Next up: Governor Charlie asserts that it is he, and not Kendrick Meek, who is the true African-American candidate in the U.S. Senate race. Team Meek conference call in 3… 2… … Continue reading

The grown ups arrive: Schale advising Alex Sink

Fmr Clinton, Kerry campaign treasurer endorses Jeff Greene
Another sign that Jeff Greene’s money makes him a serious player for that Senate nomination. Robert “Bob” Farmer, the “father of soft money” (which in a way, makes him a perfect fit for money-whiz Greene), who was treasurer for four … Continue reading

Florida campaign updates
Forget the Senate and gubernatorial races. The meanest thing going in Florida right now is the television battle between aspiring Broward County Commissioner Steve Geller, the former State Senator, and incumbent Commissioner Sue Gunzburger. The back and forth ads are … Continue reading
Is ‘top kill’ working?
The AFP reports the Coast Guard is saying BP’s “top kill” try has forced enough heavy mud into that hole in the earth to stop the gushing. MSNBC is saying BP is not ready to go that far. We’ll see.

My Herald column today: incumbents go after Fair Districts
The column this week is about the latest attempt by a strange confab of Republicans and African-American Democratic lawmakers to stop the Fair Districts amendments, which would curtail gerrymandering and take away incumbent politicians’ “right” to uncompetitive elections. Operative words: … Continue reading
