In case you missed it in this Naked Politics post from Friday about where Florida’s Cuban-American lawmakers stand on Arizona’s “show me your papers” law, which both major Republican candidates for governor not only support, but say they’d like to impose on Florida, making this state a pariah just like Jan Brewer’s Juan Crow Nation, Bill McCollum has managed to rejigger his position on the law yet again…
By the way, McCollum softened his stance on the Arizona law today. Yesterday, his statement said, “If the federal government fails to secure our borders and solve the problem of illegal immigration, I would support a similar law for Florida.” Today, he told the St. Petersburg Times, “We’re not like Arizona. We don’t have the border problems. So I don’t anticipate any need for a law like Arizona’s.”
