Sarah Palinism of the day: ‘refudiate’ **UPDATED**
Sarah Palin wants “peaceful Muslims” to “refudiate” the Ground Zero Mosque, in the interests of healing.

Now, of course, this could just be an innocent typo. I make typos in my Tweets more often than I’d like, stemming from a mental mash-up between “refute,” which she said later, and “repudiate,” which is what she actual meant to say, apparently. But um … the “f” and the “p” are kind of far apart on the keyboard.
UPDATE: Sister Sarah defends her wordification, by citing … George w. Bush, Barack Obama and Shakespeare?
The sad thing is, the Palinites will now, just as they have done with the abominably stupid “lamestream media,” duly take up “refudiate,” and incorporate it into their endless, pissy posts under Internet stories critical of their queen. Welcome to the brave new world of linguistic partisanship.
Oh my damn, I just realized this thing is going to get way bigger than the wingers…
UPDATE 2: the “refudiation” continues … could Sister Sarah have been the victim of a conspiracy? It seems there is a person calling themselves “Dixie” who has been using the word “refudiate” going back to 2007… what’s up with that?
Meanwhile, “refudiate” has gone viral, as well it should... prompting Wonkette to do that thing where you spell “America” with three K’s, TPM to give it blogtime on their coveted DC page, and Mediait’s Glynnis MacNicol to declare it as final proof that Sarah Palin really does write her own Tweets! (The Facebook page is another matter, and only God knows who wrote all that stuff on her hand…) As usual, the HuffPo has to get all mean and cerebral about it by examining the apparently bigoted message Sarah was trying to send (bummer)… but you’ve got to admit, since we won’t have Mark Williams to kick around anymore, somebody dimwitty has got to take up the anti-Ground Zero mosque cause. And the Thrilla from Wasila is just the gal to git ‘er done.
