Operation ‘Get Charlie’: Meek radio ad reminds voters of Crist’s GOP past
If you have any doubt that both the Meek and Rubio campaigns plan on spending all their time tag-teaming Charlie Crist, disabuse yourself immediately. The Meek camp is out with a radio ad re-racking various versions of Crist calling himself a Republican, praising Sarah Palin, and generally behaving in a generally elephantine way. Tapped gets the live leak. So the question is, will the “Get Charlie” strategy, without the occasional reminder about what Rubio would represent for moderate Florida, change the minds of Democrats who are with Charlie primarily to stop Marco? Don’t Democrats pulling for Charlie already know he was a Republican? And will the Meek “real Dem” push peel off enough Democrats to actually help Meek go ahead, or syphon off enough Dems to hand the race to Rubio? (Steve Schale’s take here, ICYMI) … Tick tock …
The radio spot starts running tomorrow, and it comes on the heels of a similar robo-call to 500,000 Florida Democrats last week.
