There’s an old saying that if a man’s wife can’t trust him, neither can the country. Given the history of successful but caddish American presidents, from Jefferson to William Jefferson Clinton, that saying might not be quite true. But what can you say about a guy whose mistress-turned-wife can’t trust him, either? I think that’s where the “can’t be president” untrustworthiness factor really kicks in.
