Trump’s Apprentice ‘on the bubble’

NBC announces its Fall schedule on Monday. And it looks like The Donald returning to the peacock network is anything but a sure thing.

NBC is under pressure regarding Trump’s show because of his racist/birther outbursts last month, with groups like Color of Change not only calling on the network to drop “The Apprentice”/”Celebrity Apprentice,” but also pushing the current African-American contestants, including Nene and Lil’ John, to speak out against Trump. A separate online movement is targeting “Apprentice” advertisers, calling on them to pull their spots from the show.

Even noted historian Douglas Brinkley has called on the network to put an end to its relationship with The Donald, as has MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, for whom broadsides against Trump’s thinly veiled racism against President Barack Obama, and demands for accountability by NBC Entertainment executives, became an almost nightly staple.
