  1. Beauzeaux says:

It reminds me of reading about Debbie Fields of Mrs. Field’s cookie fame (well, famous in the 80s). She built the business ALL BY HERSELF! Using her own bootstrappyness. What a champ!

It turns out she started the business with $50,000 borrowed from her husband.

The multiple layers of privilege-deafness were so astounding, I had to put the article down. Yes, the mind reels. Then collapses into fits of giggles or tears.
    It’s effing amazing.

  2. Sonny says:

    Dear Dad,
I know the house is under water, but please try to refinance the mortgage so I can borrow some money for school; and maybe a start-up. Mitt says it’s the way to go.

Mitt just doesn’t get it. He just hasn’t been around people in the real world long enough.

  4. Flo says:

Sure, if mom and dad are “successful”

*Tagg Romney’s firm got a $10 million start-up loan from Mitt and Ann Romney, which is interesting in light of Romney’s recent suggestion to students: “borrow money from your parents.”
