Pope Francis vs the right: blessed are the poor

Why he’s winning..

Because in the end, his emphasis on aiding the poor rather than rewarding the rich is far from Ayn Randism and Reaganomics, but right on the mark with what Jesus taught.

“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. “Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation.” — Luke 6:20-26

“Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!” — Isaiah 10:1-2

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” — Matthew 5:5

You go, @Pontifex. Keep on winning.
