(Video) Attention Florida’s 22nd Congressional District: this is your Congressman

April 22, 2011 · Posted in 2012, Allen West, Florida, Florida to D.C., People, Politics · 1 Comment

Allen West played it real cool in in his campaign commercials, trying to come across as a perfectly normal guy who just wants to cut your taxes. And while the crazy slipped out from time to time, West didn’t really let it rip until after he was elected. Well, blue hairs of Boca? This is your Congressman on Fox:

Somebody might want to forward that to Patrick Murphy’s ad guy.

If I could build a Democratic congressional candidate from a kit, he’d be a young businessman with a picture-perfect back story and a fresh face, to whom the grannies and the bubbes in old timey Palm Beach would gladly serve second helpings of pie, before introducing them to their granddaughters (or their grandsons… hey, it’s 2012!) Ladies and gentleman? It doesn’t get much better than this:

Now of course it’s not that simple… Read more

This happened: Allen West picks right wing talk radio host as chief of staff **UPDATE**

2010 will long be remembered as the year talk radio callers went to Washington. … Literally. File this one under “elections have consequences.”

More West: former GOP opponent calls him ‘Irresponsible and Irrational’

It’s not just the trash talk about “nippy chihuahuas”, “mamas boys” and Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s skirts. And it just his rather violent sounding demand for Nancy Pelosi’s gavel. … Serious people think Allen West might not be all there, including his former Republican, conservative opponent, whose main beef with West is that he doesn’t pay his taxes. Allen West rails against nippy chihuahuas, Keith Olbermann, and … skirts?

If there is a more fitting example of the tea party in action — in all it’s mad glory — it is Allen West, once famous for firing a gun at an Iraqi prisoner’s head and being calmly shown the door by the United States Army, now famous for issuing wacky manifestos to his tea party troops, that sound like they’re coming straight over the Ham radio.

The latest West rant is actually on paper — where the “shalls” and henceforths run like acid rain off a gloriously unregulated coal mine. You really need to read it all to get the full effect. Oh, and West’s shot at his opponent Ron Klein, whom he accuses of “hiding behind Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s “skirts” (which sounds like something the Scarlett Pimpernell might say…) is all the more amusing because West actually lives in DWS’s congressional district, and not the one he’s running in. Does that mean he’s trying to run behind Ron Klein’s jodhpurs? Ponder that while you read this: Read more

Allen West: still on a tear about Islam (and lying about Malmo)

Tea Party Republican Allen West in convinced that persons unnamed in Washington are allowing our “culture” to be overtaken by Islamic radicalism, and thus are guilty of “appeasement,” due to “multiculturalism on steroids.” No, he really thinks we’re being taken over, as a country and a culture, by Islamic radicals. And not just the ones in his closet and under his bed. Watch, courtesy of his fans at The Shark Tank:

One thing West did say that is true, is that what we have to worry about is “an ideology that is totalitarian, theocratic, political and imperialistic in nature.” It’s called the American right wing. Oh, and West also tells a story that contains a fundamental lie. Read more

Happy Fourth of July, Allen West (now go read a history book)

Allen West could learn a thing or two about tyranny...

Allen West believes that when his side loses an election, or a vote in the House of Representatives or the United States Senate, the result is “tyranny!” TYRANNY, I SAY! … What can you say … he’s a tea party “patriot,” who didn’t even value the rules of America’s most trusted institution, the United States Military, and its strict code of conduct (the Army discreetly pointed him in the general direction of the door back in 2004.) Now, the colonel wants to go to Congress, to fight the “tyrants” up close. Given his history, god forbid he win the election, go to Washington and lose a few votes. Someone could get hurt … Read more
