What to do with the ‘Should Obama be killed?’ Facebook pollster?

September 28, 2009 · Posted in President Barack Obama · 5 Comments

A sick poll asking whether President Obama should be killed (the choices were “Yes”, “No”, “Maybe,” and “If he cuts my health care…”) and the whole polling app, has been pulled by Facebook, and according to CBS, the user banished from Facebook. The Huffpo Political Carnival scored this screen grab:

obama-fbpoll

But should Facebook also turn over the name of the poll creator to the Secret Service? It’s a tough call. The person who did it is likely not a dangerous nut; probably just your average Obama-hating teabagger, unleashed, as so many of them are, by the anonymity of the Internet to share something stupid with their pretend, online friends. But in an age where there really are armed nuts out there convening online, empowering themselves with the notion that they’re not alone after all — that other people hate “the government” and the president (or whoever) as much as they do, and with wingers arming themselves to the teeth out of an irrational fear that the black helicopters are coming, you really can’t be too careful. Judge to crazy birther lady: ‘go away’

Cartoon Orly Taitz, from LoopyLines.com.

A judge has warned Orly Taitz, the wacky Israeli with the Internet law degree who keeps getting tricked by phony Obama “Kenyan” birth certificates: one more time and you’re toast. From RawStory:

A federal judge in Georgia has threatened Orly Taitz, de facto leader of the birther movement, with sanctions if she ever brings another “frivolous” case before him, news reports say.

Judge Clay Land of the US District Court in Columbus, Georgia, threw out a case brought by US Army Captain Connie Rhodes, who earlier this month sued for the right to refuse deployment orders to Iraq, on the argument that the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, President Barack Obama, was not born in the United States and is therefore not the legitimate head of the army. The Axis of Crazy: Paulites, Palinites, teabaggers, militias and crackpot Pastor Anderson

September 9, 2009 · Posted in News and Current Affairs, People · Comment

The nexus of these groups is coming into focus. It seems that the origin of the wingnut ascendancy might be the failed, quirky candidacy of Ron Paul. More and more, the craziest forces on the right appear to be a combination of Ron Paul adherents, Sarah Palin fans and fringe miliita types, all brought together by media figures like Glenn Beck. One piece of evidence: “Pastor” Steven Anderson, the guy who wants President Obama dead (specifically, melted like a salted snail) was the star of one of those ubiquitous July 4 “tea parties.” Watch:

So, do this blogger and others like him, still think Anderson is “great?” Read more

More trouble for ‘Pastor’ who wants Obama dead

September 8, 2009 · Posted in News and Current Affairs, Politics, Religion · Comment

“Pastor” Steven “Melt Obama Like a Snail” Anderson is many things, most of them unrelated to Jesus. Apparently, he is also the owner of a “home based” business, whose home happens to share the same address as his “church.” Watch what happens when he is confronted by a Tempe-area reporter (notice toward the end of the video, you’ll see Black militia hanger-on Chris Broughton in the background, without his AR-15):

According to a reporter from the Phoenix New Times, Anderson made some interesting admissionsRead more

Keith Olbermann admits: The Buildings Are Commies … They’re ALL Commies…

The Rockefellars, their architect, NBC Earth Stations and a naked Mussolini. It all makes sense now. (Soylent Green… is people. … It’s PEOPLE!!!!! Oops. Sorry… got distracted.) Thank you, Glenn Beck. I don’t think any of us will ever walk by a building and just see bricks and mortar and glass ever again. We’ll see what’s really there… what’s been hidden in plain sight by the New World Order … and what we see will scare the bejeezus out of us. And now, for a word from Comrade Olbermann:

The crazies get their turn to run the GOP

September 2, 2009 · Posted in Opinion, Politics · 2 Comments

rightwingWith elected Republicans firmly in line, and the pragmatists having had their shot with John McCain (though he wound up being lured into the loony bin for much of the latter part of his campaign, once he brought Sarah Palin on board) the extreme right wing of the Republican Party’s “conservative movement” is firmly in charge. And while that may give moderate Republicans headaches, it is a reality. The Limbaugh-Beck-Palin-Bachman wing has long been held back, while what they see as a spineless Republican Party failed to implement “conservative principles.” They’ve stewed and steamed, as Judge Bork was kept off the Supreme Court. They’ve boiled as Roe v. Wade remained on the books for more than 30 years. They’ve had their hopes dashed as their beloved president George W. Bush, who talked like an evangelical, governed like the Methodist he really is when it came to domestic policy — pushing “abstinence only” programs in schools but declining in the end to use the same muscle he exerted to win tax cuts or to give the neocons their war in Iraq, to do away with legalized abortion and gay marriage. And then, adding insult to injury, Bush’s Christian crusade in the Middle East fell apart, and he slinked out of office hated and dismissed, adding a final disastrous act: the bail out of Wall Street. Even the right’s cherished ideas, like domestic spying and torture to root out and punish the Muslim idolaters were thrown out with Dubya’s dirty bath water.

Well now, at last, the wingers get to try things their way.

Texas makes a run at Arizona for America’s most embarrassing state

George w. Bush made Texas embarrassing ... then Arizona and its gun nuts stole the crown ... now, Texas wants it back,

George w. Bush made Texas embarrassing (and Florida, too) ... then Arizona and its gun nuts stole the crown. Now, Texas wants it back.

A few hundred Texans want out of the union, so they rallied on the Capitol steps this weekend to demand that Rick Perry, the current governor/president of Texas, follow through on his promise to quit this scurvy union and press on to the cause of FREEDOM! Some of the protesters even defended their “right as citizens” to secede “under the Constitution” … which didn’t even make their heads spin.

For these fine specimen of right wing fortitude, there will be no easy peace with the ni — I mean the usurper in the White House. No, it’s war, WAR I say! Which would be followed by a brand new Republic of Texas, with no taxes, no regulations to stay the loving hand of capitalism, no gun laws, no “public schools” with their “evolution” and “science” malarkey… no gov’ment whatsoever, and therefore, true freedom! Of course, that would also mean no police force, no army, no fire department, no public hospitals, no protection from Mexican drug gangs overrunning the border (which would no longer be patrolled by the evil United States and its taxpayer-funded Border Patrol,) and no more federal dole should another natural disaster strike (in fact, they’d have to plead for humanitarian assistance the way, say, Sri Lanka might…) But no matter! Texans will press on! They’ll live off the land! Hunt and grow their own food! Breed their own teenaged girls without no damned, devil’s contraception (sorry, did I type that out loud???) and get their healthcare the way the founding fathers of this great, wicked union whose constitution they adore (except for the election parts) intended: through prayer, charity and leeches!!! And finally … FINALLY they’ll get the government off their backs!!! You know? I’d almost like to see the U.S. let them go, and see how they make out (so long as we seal the border so they can’t get back in…) Watch and learn:

Onward! Now, how can we get them to take Arizona and Kansas with them…?

And now: the funniest Glenn Beck video … EVER

August 12, 2009 · Posted in News and Current Affairs · 1 Comment

If you’ve never watched much of the Glenn Beck FNC program, this will be a treat for you. Watch Glenn try to have what he really seems to think is an intellectual discussion with three guests about how Barack Obama is going to declare you to be virus, and then euthanize you. Watch:

Anybody? … Anybody wanna go with me on this Obama’s gonna kill us all thing? No? Okay, let’s go to a break.

Update: Beck now claims he’s not saying eugenics is coming, but …
